YOU DESERVE IT!

Food has a direct connection to our soul. It’s a huge part of our family and social lives. Lots of traditions involve food and bring back wonderful memories from our childhood.

But food also has its shadow side. We can use it to cope with tough emotions in an unhealthy way or to distract ourselves from something uncomfortable we’re experiencing.

We also use food as a reward. ‘OK, I crammed all night for this big test, now I deserve to order a pizza and wings!’, or ‘I crushed this presentation for work, time to go get an XL banana split, I DESERVE IT’!

This habit often turns food into our go-to coping mechanism. We begin to associate working hard or being stressed with permission to eat something that makes us feel better at that moment. We tell ourselves we deserve something that feels comfortable and familiar to ease the stress.

But it doesn't take long before we begin to feel the physical effects of eating poor quality food. Not long after that we may feel guilt or regret for taking actions out of alignment with our goals.

So yes, YOU DESERVE IT! You deserve to feel amazing and have tons of energy. You deserve to reach your goals and see great results. You deserve to have a healthy body you love. You deserve to be a kickass 90 year old.
