A Punch is Coming
People often ask why I love cold water. The most applicable lately is the ability to find your center when things get intense in your environment.

Balance and Gratitude
We all operate in various shades of grey. Find yours and own it. It doesn't matter if anyone else likes that color, it's for you to enjoy.

Success and Fulfillment
Some of the most successful people I know are miserable. From the outside they've achieved everything...but they've done it for everyone but themselves.

Affirmations
Affirmations are powerful tools to steer your subconscious. But it's a fine line between belief and delusion, so crafting affirmations with language you actually believe is important if you want them to have any effect.

The Not So Secret to Happiness
Unsurprisingly there's some hard work to be done as we begin the journey to happy. We have to get in tune with our body, mind, and emotions before we can begin listening to their wisdom.

Achievement and Happiness
Achieving things in life is great. We feel successful, happy, and alive when we knock a goal out of the park.
But you are not your achievements. And you don't need them to feel like a success.

Working Out Should be Fun
I used to go to the gym and beat the shit out of myself almost daily. I didn't see it as punishment for making unhealthy life choices like many others do, but I did use it as a coping mechanism to deal with stressful things in life. That sounds like a good thing (and it's certainly better than going back to drugs), except I was WAY overtraining and my body was struggling to keep up.

Diets that Don’t Work
Trying a way of eating and realizing it doesn’t work isn’t a failure. It’s a successful experiment in figuring out what doesn’t work for YOUR BODY.

Choose your Difficulty
Sometimes choosing ‘easy’ doesn’t serve us best. In life there are ALWAYS going to be obstacles, speed bumps, and hiccups. The goal isn’t to ‘win’ and get to the other side, but to enjoy the challenge.

YOU DESERVE IT!
We also use food as a reward. ‘OK, I crammed all night for this big test, now I deserve to order a pizza and wings!’, or ‘I crushed this presentation for work, time to go get an XL banana split, I DESERVE IT’!

How to Stay Motivated
We humans love instant gratification. But we also love the feeling of triumph we get after achieving something we’ve worked incredibly hard on for a long period of time. So how do we cross the chasm? How do we stay motivated before we see any progress?

You’re Doing it: Keep Going
If you take one step closer to your goal today, you’re doing it right. Keep going.

EAT THE CAKE
Someone asked me my biggest piece of nutritional advice over the weekend and I think my response will surprise you. As the words were coming out of my mouth I was honestly a little stunned myself.

The Following a Not Optional
The Following are NOT OPTIONAL to be a happy and healthy person:

The Art of Stillness
The only way to know what you need is to sit in stillness and listen. Your mind, body, and spirit will know what to do with what you hear. Then comes the hard part- trusting, surrendering, and getting the fuck out of the way.

Finding Faith
Consider this your warning: you're probably going to see some things from me this year you don't expect because I'm no longer the person I was when you met me.

Word of the Year: 2021
After a year of gritting my teeth, working non-stop, and fighting a very uphill battle, I looked around and thought “There has to be a better way”.

WUG: Pillars of Health
It's a collection of training methodologies, recovery techniques, practices, habits, thoughts, and actions. It's a school of thought that when implemented with rigor, develops fully integrated, strong, kickass humans.

Year in Review
Although 2020 was a brutal year, it was accompanied with some incredibly useful nuggets. Some life lessons can only be learned when you’re neck deep in poop – and this year was crappy.
